San Juan vans
Nestled in the beautiful San Juan Mountains of Southwest Colorado, San Juan Vans is a small team of craftsmen and engineers dedicated to developing the world’s most off-grid capable adventure vehicles. Our goal is to provide our customers with a vehicle capable of taking them to the places less traveled in comfort, 365 days a year.
Whether it’s in our 48 volt off-grid power systems, our diesel powered hydronic heating solutions, or our high efficiency air-conditioners, we are constantly pushing the envelope to deliver comfort and durability available anywhere you can get a four-wheel drive vehicle.
We have intentionally stayed small to keep quality high, and we don’t plan to change that.
The Team
Taylor Ripp - Founder
Taylor started San Juan Vans in 2018 after building a couple of rigs for his own adventures, which then led to him being inundated with requests from others to build them their own adventure vehicles. Since starting the business, Taylor has worked to build San Juan Vans into a premier provider of the world’s most capable campervans and truck campers. When he’s not in the shop running San Juan Vans, he spends his time running rivers, riding his mountain bike, and being with his wife and young son.
Kurt Pattison - Partner/Shop Foreman
The brains behind many of the systems found in a San Juan Vans rig, Kurt partnered with Taylor in 2020 and has brought an enormous wealth of knowledge and skill to the San Juan Vans brand. As former high school physics teacher, auto mechanic, builder, and more, Kurt brings his diverse skill set and knowledge base to the San Juan Vans shop to help push the envelope of what is possible in an off-grid adventure machine. When he’s not in the shop, you can find Kurt riding bikes or on the snowy slopes.
